Four teams qualify for first IFL playoffs
The International Fight League’s first season ended on Saturday in Las Vegas. The hometown Nevada Lions beat the Tucson Scorpions 4-1, while the New York Pitbulls can look forward to the playoffs after beating the Toronto Dragons 3-2.
The Final Four teams will do battle in the IFL semifinals on Aug. 2 at in E. Rutherford, N.J. The top-seeded Los Angeles Anacondas (3-0) will face the Quad Cities Silverbacks (2-1), while New York (3-0) will battle the Tokyo Sabres (3-0).
Toronto had a 2-1 lead on New York, but the Pitbulls got victories from Delson Heleno and Marcio Cruz to remain unbeaten.
The winning fighters for Nevada were Daniel Molina, Pat Healy, John Gunderson and Roy Nelson.
